Spring hasn't quite finished with us yet as we have more blooms, brides and babies joining us here at Oak Meadow Ranch. This passed month has rushed by with sparkling wedding moments, new life and few deluges! We are looking forward in June to a few more vows, a couple exciting trips and the joys of animal husbandry as we welcome new arrivals and continue training, caring for and loving on our wildlife!
New Babies on the Ranch
Meet our newest additions!
We have welcomed 4 new monkeys; 2 Marmosets and 2 Tamarins - meet Yoshi, Luigi, Mario and Princess Peach!
Meet our Coatimundi babies, named Marilyn and Monroe.
Meet Sir Lancelot - a Red Ruffed Lemur and Lady Guinevere, a Tri-Colored Lemur.
and finally the Asian Small Clawed Otter babies - Ginny Weasley and Bellatrix!
For a limited time only you are able to book an hour of time to play with, feed and love on all 4 species of precious babies. Don't sleep on this opportunity - babies don't keep!
Recent Weddings
Saying 'I Do' is one of the most memorable moments of peoples lives, and we love making our guests nuptials even more incredible with our signature western style and unforgettable Ambassador Animals. We have truly been blessed with amazing weather. One wedding the skies were clear for the ceremony, it rained hard during dinner while everyone was inside, and then the skies cleared again for the reception and dancing outdoors! Congratulations to our special couples!
Giraffe Training
Watch as we work with baby Jigsaw on touch desensitization training! This important part of socializing Jigsaw is not just for fun and treats! it is essential for excellent care - being able to provide hoof care and veterinary treatment relies on our ability to be close and in contact with him.
Having Jigsaw comfortable with this contact and care keeps both he and our team safe. Check it out!
Looking Ahead at Upcoming Events:
Conservation Work
Chloe and Andrew are currently at the Costa Rica Animal Rescue Center outside of Alajuela! The goats milk got Andrew a special search at the airport from an explosives expert - and the adventure only continues from there. Andrew has built new enrichment for the Macaws and Coatimundi's, and Chloe has been hard at work feeding and cleaning the rescued animals, and even got to assist in the release of a rehabilitated squirrel monkey that had been rehabilitated. Make sure to follow our socials to catch all the funny moments!
The countdown is on for Kristin, Eduardo and Hannah to make the long trek to Madagascar next month to participate in the study and protection of rare and critically endangered Lemur species on the remote island of Nosy Be; with the only remaining primaeval rainforest of Madagascar.
